Park Bench Redo

Hello. Sorry that I haven't been blogging much. Hard to get back into it for some reason. I started a new job and it has been keeping me busy (and tired).

What have you all been doing these last few weeks? I have not done very much crafting recently, but I still like to share my projects that I have made in the past.

Can anyone guess what this is?

Before

AFTER

It is the back of an outdoor bench to sit on. My brother and sister and I went together one Father's Day, and purchased this bench for our dad. He was getting weak and likes to garden, so he put this bench in his garden to sit on to take breaks while he was gardening. We had found out that dad had  lung cancer in August of 2012. He and mom gave most of their belongings away and downsized into a two bedroom apartment in December 2012. In March of 2013, he passed away.

My mom had this bench on her patio of her apartment and it was getting ruined. My brother cut it up and we were going to throw it away, but I liked the back of the bench and thought I would "rescue" it a little bit.

I should have sanded the ends.
I liked how they turned out and I think of my dad, sitting on the bench in his garden, every time I look at it.
I used white and black paint, from Walmart and touched it all up. The eagles were so dirty with green, gross stuff on them, so I had to scrub them quite a bit. I put them in a corner of my apartment to show them off when family and guests visit. I'm going to add a small crock, with some flowers, in the middle of them soon.

Have any of you "rescued" a memorable piece of furniture from your family? I would love to hear about it. Share some pictures!

Have a nice day!

T-Shirt Fun!

Hello again, followers! It is a rainy day here in Indiana. I haven't felt like doing much at all. Do you have days like that too?

I remembered I said that I would share my t-shirts with you. I hope you will like them.

1.
First one I ever made!
This is the first t-shirt that I made. Did you notice that it is the same words as my blog? I love wearing it around and I am hoping that people will ask me about it. I also, wore it at a Flea Market. I had a table at the Flea Market, back in May, and put all my crafts on it that I wanted to sell. I didn't sell much, but I did get some orders to make these:
Sold at Flea Market back in May.

Anyway, back to the t-shirts...

2.

I really can't remember which one of these I made for numbers 2 and three. Ha! It doesn't matter.

3.

4.

Isn't this one cute? I made this for a friend's little grandson, named "Knox."

5.

I made these shirts for a 5K, that I will be walking, up in Michigan.
My neighbor has a sweet daughter and she asked me if I would make them for our team. We're walking for a fundraiser for cancer in
September. This is such a special t-shirt to me. I was happy to make them.

6.

School is starting back up next week here. My granddaughters are excited for school to start. (Senior and First grade - sisters). I made this one last week. I thought it would look - cool for back to school!

7.

Saw these online and I just had to make them. I have two friends expecting. Can't wait to give them these cute onesies.

8.

Sorry, this one is blurry. I'm a coffee drinker. I just had to have a coffee shirt. I plan on making a lot more of coffee t-shirts!

I uploaded most of the t-shirt sayings to my Cricut and used

That's all my t-shirts I have made for now. Do any of you make
t-shirts? I would love to see them. Hope to hear some comments
from you soon.

Have a great day!

Fun Weekend

Hello. Cyndee here. Just wanted to share my fun weekend.
On Friday, I had my 6 year old granddaughter over for the day. When she comes to my place, I try to keep her busy, or she would watch videos ALL DAY. I always have a craft for her to do.
So, here is "Gracie" showing off her cute craft that she (and mostly I) created:

Sail boat made from popsicle sticks.

Ha! Gracie is so much fun. The other day, I got in the mood to make another paper flower. You can see that craft here.

Do any of you have kids in 4-H? We had our 4-H Fair this past week. And my oldest granddaughter has received grand champion on her Home Environment projects for the past 9 years in a row! I'm so proud of that girl! This year, Maitlyn created this old wringer washer into a vanity with a sink.

And Gracie is in Mini 4-H for her first year!
She made this cute little cooking kit.

How fun!

Did I mention that I make T-shirts? I will share my T-shirts with you on my next post.

Please subscribe to my blog and share your grandchildren's projects, or any of your projects, that you worked on this past weekend. I would love to see them.

Take care and have a great week!

I have not shared on here much, but I posted some of my paper flowers on my photo gallery that I wanted to share with you.  Did you see my painted flower pots in the gallery?

Hope to write more soon. Please comment on what craft you have been working on. I would love to hear from you! Also, post on my photo gallery and tell me what you think!
